Sebastian Hussein

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sebastian Hussein, age 35, of Bakersfield, California. Sebastian was born on March 22, 1990, in Bakersfield, California, to Helder and Rosie Rivera.

Sebastian attended Planz Elementary, Ollivier Jr High, and South High School in Bakersfield. Known for his vibrant spirit, loving heart, and bright smile, Sebastian touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He was always joking, laughing, listening to his rap music, and watching Kobe Bryant highlight videos. He loved playing basketball as a kid. You would always catch him outside trying to copy the moves he had seen Kobe doing. He was our little actor, appearing in Evan Stevens and Brother's Garcia. Though his time here was far too short, he will forever be remembered for the joy, laughter, and light he brought into the world.

He is survived by his loving parents, Helder & Rosie Rivera; his sister, Monique Powers; husband Coby Powers; and nieces, Aubrey and Alyssa Powers. Brother, Jonathon Rivera, wife Lena Rivera, and niece Lilo Rivera. Grandma, Elvia Martinez, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who will always cherish his memory.

Sebastian is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Frank & Beatrice Villanueva, aunt Elva Andrade, cousin Robbie Villanueva, Uncle Frank Villanueva, and Uncle James Villanueva.

Sebastian's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his beautiful spirit will live on through the love he shared and the memories he created.

He is rejoicing with the Lord and his loved ones in heaven. His memory and beautiful smile will live on in our hearts.

Sebastian, you will be missed and forever remembered with love.
