Sebastian Christopher Szymanski, known affectionately as "Sebby," passed away at the young age of 23, on the 9th of March, 2025, through an unexpected car accident in Belding, MI. Born on the same day in 2002 to Chris and Chas Szymanski in
Grand Rapids, MI, Sebastian was a beacon of light from the moment he entered this world.
Sebby grew up surrounded by love and laughter, with his parents and his siblings Avery and Carter, contributing to a lively household where he formed an unbreakable bond with each of them. His pride and joy was his faithful companion, Koda. He was the cherished grandson of Ed and Gloria Szymanski and John and Linda Perry; treasured nephew to his uncles and aunts, Steve & Stacey Szymanski, Austin & Theresa Perry, and the late Robert Szymanski and Erin Szymanski; and a beloved cousin to Bradley, Madison, Morgan, Sage, Kayla, Tyler, and Jonathan, among his extensive family network of great aunts and great uncles and a myriad of cousins.
A proud graduate of Lowell High School, Sebby brought his contagious enthusiasm to every endeavor. He committed himself to his work as a dedicated hoof trimmer at Swisslane Farms, where he became an integral part of the agricultural community through his exceptional work ethic and deeply ingrained sense of stewardship.
Sebastian's passions extended far beyond his professional life. An ardent outdoorsman, he relished the opportunity to hunt and fish, cherishing the serenity and challenge nature provided. His physical fitness was a priority, often found at the gym honing his strength and endurance, which carried over into his love for soccer. Whether playing the game, coaching, or simply discussing strategies, his enthusiasm for soccer was both evident and infectious.
A fervent fan of the Green Bay Packers, Sebby never missed a chance to engage in friendly sports rivalries. His taste in music gravitated toward country, where the narratives and rhythms seemed to echo his own approach to life-authentic, grounded, and full of heart.
Sebby will be eminently remembered for his sense of humor-a trait that could effortlessly brighten the room. He loved to tease his siblings light-heartedly. His adventuresome spirit led him to seize life's opportunities boldly and without hesitation. Above all, his faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding him with a moral compass that was unshakeable and sincere, and a beacon for all who knew him.
His untimely departure leaves an indelible void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. The legacy Sebastian leaves behind is one of joy, adventure, and unwavering faith. While his earthly journey was cut short, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide his family and friends.
The loss we endure is profound, and the world is undoubtedly dimmer without Sebastian's radiant smile and buoyant laughter. As we bid farewell to Sebastian Christopher Szymanski, we take solace in the memories, the moments of pure joy, and the immeasurable impact he made on each of us. His laughter, love, and the light of his spirit will never fade from our hearts.
Sebby, you were loved immensely, and you will be missed beyond measure. May you rest in peace until we meet again.
