Selma S. Martinez passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, in the comfort of her home and surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born June 22, 1959, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to the late Gilberto and Ophelia Cruz.
Selma was a graduate of Clyde High School and also attended Vanguard in Fremont. Selma mostly enjoyed spending her time with her family. She also enjoyed the luxuries of life, getting her nails done, traveling, fine dining, shopping, gambling, socializing, and dancing. Anyone who knew Selma would tell you that her smile and laugh were beautiful, the food she prepared was speechless, and the time spent with her will never be forgotten.
She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Raul P. Martinez Jr. whom she married January 22, 1982; Her children, Elizabeth, Amie, and Erica Martinez; grandchildren, Isaac Wood, Isaiah Martinez, and Olivia Fortier; her great-grandson, Dallas Martinez; siblings, Henry (Leticia) Cruz, Ramiro (Teresa) Cruz, Hilda (Mike) Pocock, Dora (Fernando) Galvan, Belinda (Mark) Hirt, Rudy Cruz, and Bernardo (Donna) Cruz; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Including her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Gilberto Cruz Jr., and nephew, Rudy Cruz Jr.
Friends and family may join us as we celebrate Selma from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Toft Funeral Home & Crematory, 2001 Columbus Ave., Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
