Seth Michael Bouck Gaeth "Peanut", age 20, of Unionville, passed away on December 29, 2023. Seth Michael Bouck came into this world with a thunderous roar on July 4, 2003.
Peanut was filled with determination of a fighter. He was born at 29 weeks, and over his short life, any obstacle or challenge that was placed in front of him, he hurdled like a star. We were told at birth we would only have him with us for around three years, and we were fortunately blessed to have 17 years more than they said we would. He was determined to live life fully and beat the odds.
Peanut leaves a legacy a mile long. He touched the heart of any individual he met. He taught us about compassion, understanding and acceptance. For a young man who never spoke a word, he touched your heart in such a meaningful way. For a boy that could never run, he climbed the highest mountains.
Peanut adored his aide and best friend, Katie Hartman. You could say they were each other's partner in adventures. They enjoyed their time outdoors, trips in her truck, or the morning time getting "styled up" for the day. You will always be a part of our family.
Peanut always enjoyed going to school at Highland Pines, and adored his teacher, Shelly Atwood. His favorite snack was a warm bowl of pudding, loved when he had new set of batteries in his V-Tech flashlight and his warm snuggly sleeping bag. Above all, his true happy place was sitting in fresh black dirt at a campsite or having endless water. He was one of those rare individuals that no matter what kind of day you were having, his smile and hug could melt all your cares away.
Seth is survived by his devoted and loving parents, Shaunna and Josh Gaeth; his loving siblings: Jessy (Paige) Samel and Anabele Bouck-Gaeth; his new niece, Abby Jo; his dear godparents: Heather and Shade Smith, and Steve (Lynda) Deming; grandparents: Don and Nancy Bouck and Diane Gaeth; aunts and uncles: Troy and Sue Chapel, Chad and Renee Gaeth, Matt Schultze and Andrea DeRocco; great aunt and great uncle: Dave and Bonnie Glime; his aide and best friend, Katie Hartman; and his favorite teacher, Shelly Atwood.
Seth is welcomed to his heavenly home by his grandparents: Dennis and JoAnn Noonan and William Gaeth; great grandparents: Robert and Marion Glime, Chuck and Virginia Bouck; and aunt, Donna Arnoldy.
Seth leaves us with a few parting words:
"Be on high alert – nobody is there to protect you from chairs and lamps. As we all know, they are my arch nemesis. Also, all hat-wearers, feel safe."
Visitation and funeral service will be held Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 12pm-3:30pm, with the service at 3:30pm. Pastor Joshua Johnson from Caseville United Methodist Church will be officiating. There will be a luncheon after the service.
Memorials may be made to the family.
