Born in 1990, Seth packed as much laughter, love, and adventure into his 34 years as possible. A lifelong resident of Yucaipa, he graduated from Yucaipa High School, playing baseball and golf. He graduated from the California State University, San Bernardino, with a degree in Criminal Justice and proudly served as a police officer for 11 years. During his law enforcement career, he showed up every day with courage, integrity, and a servant’s heart. He had the kind of joy that was contagious, and worked hard at keeping everything light and fun. People mattered to Seth and he highly valued the relationships he built over time.
In 2017, he married his best friend, Ashley, and their life together was full of laughter, partnership, and love. His greatest joy came from being a dad to his two little boys, Ronan (4) and Ryan (2). Whether they were camping at the beach, walking the dogs, playing baseball in the yard, tagging along for a round of golf, or taking a chance to hit the driving range, Seth was in his element when he was with his boys.
Outside of work and family, Seth loved to play softball, ride his motorcycles, go to Disneyland with the family, and hit the golf course. He lived life all-in, with joy and positivity.
His faith in Jesus was steady and strong, even during his hardest days—especially in his courageous battle with cancer. He fought with everything he had to his very last breath, which he took on Sunday, April 6, 2025. Even during this difficult period, Seth managed to inspire everyone around him with his strength, joy and optimism.
Seth is survived by his wife, Ashley; his sons, Ronan and Ryan; his parents, Greg and Sidney Franklin; his siblings, Brooks Franklin (Shona), Kameryn Goodin (Isaac), and Hannah Roberts (Trey), his in-laws Joe and Anna DeSalliers and brother-in-law, Austin DeSalliers (Amanda), in addition to a very large extended family. His life was a gift to all of us, and though our hearts are broken, we are grateful for every moment we had with him and for the impact he had on others.
A celebration of Seth’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Wildwood Calvary Chapel—35145 Oak Glen Road, Yucaipa CA 92399.
