Seth Sorrell Shoneman Greenville - Seth Sorrell Shoneman, 50, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025, at his home in Greenville, NC, surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 23, 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The State Theatre, 110 W. 5th Street, Greenville, NC 27858. Born on January 23, 1975, in Cedar Grove, NC, Seth carried from the very beginning a quiet steadiness- a calm presence that became his lifelong gift to everyone who knew him. Seth's life was rich in roles: father, husband, son, brother, uncle, and friend - and richer still in the way he lived them. He was a steward of the earth, a seeker of knowledge, a music enthusiast, and an avid outdoorsman. Born a Tar Heel, later claimed by the Pirates, and forever loyal to the Panthers, Seth's roots were firmly planted in North Carolina. Yet his spirit roamed far- drawn to rivers, mountains, deserts, and open skies. The American Southwest called to him deeply, and his years in Colorado and New Mexico left their colors on his soul. Seth collected skills the way others collect souvenirs - each one a reminder of a place, a moment, a lesson learned. He became certified in Adobe Construction, earned his Real Estate license, was a Licensed General Contractor, served as a Smokejumper firefighter, and earned a degree in Spanish Colonial Furniture Design. He built and ran Carolina Greenworks, and in recent years applied his expertise as an energy auditor for Greenville Utilities Commission. Above all, Seth cherished his family. He leaves behind his wife, Bianca Gentile Shoneman; their children, Sophia Grace and Judah Charles; his parents, Mickey Jo Sorrell and John Shoneman (Jill); his brother, Dov Shoneman (Nikki); his sister, Charlotte Shoneman (Breandan); and a close circle of chosen family members. He joins in rest his son, Sebastian Sol Shoneman; his grandparents, Charles and Anne Shoneman and Minnie and Ralph Sorrell; and many loyal four-legged companions.
