Setsu Evans passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on September 11, 2025, at the age of 96. She was born on February 3, 1929, in Kanuma, Japan, to the late Take and Seihei Kato.

Setsu's legacy is carried on by her adoring children, Russell (Debra) Evans of Pittsburgh, Mary (Tom Deneau) Evans of Fair Haven, Glenn (Cathee Roehrig) Evans of Marine City, and Susanne Wyman of Chesterfield. Her spirit will forever be reflected in the lives of her grandchildren, Amanda, Nicole, Eric, Andrew, Aaron, Jessica, Thomas, and Andrea, and her great-grandchildren, Eliam, Isaiah, Malachi, Abraham, Hannah, Lillian, Abigail, Ayden, Severus, Gryffin, Gavin, and Isla. Her memory will also be cherished by her six siblings in Japan, along with many nieces and nephews.

While Setsu was preceded in death by her beloved grandson, Adam.

No services are scheduled. She will be laid to rest on the family plot in Japan. Arrangements were entrusted to Grace Memorial.
