Shad Shadowens

Clarence Irvin "Shad" Shadowens, 82, passed away at S.I.H. Memorial Hospital of Carbondale on Friday, November 3, 2023.
Shad worked as a salesman for Tru-bilt of Marion, IL. He formerly worked in Orient #3 Mine and in construction.
Shad was a member of the Royalton Church of the Nazarene.
Shad was born July 18, 1941 in Jackson County, IL to Clyde and Beulah (Corzine) Shadowens.
Shad was united in marriage with Judith Ann Cox in Murphysboro, IL on August 8, 1974.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Shadowens of Cleburne, IL; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery Lee & Ann Shadowens of Virginia Beach, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Darla & Wayne Peterson of Evansville, IN; son, Greg Olkoski of Herrin; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff & Beckie Olkoski of Royalton, IL; son and daughter-in-law, J. K. & Suzan Olkoski of Herrin; nine grandchildren, Brittany Shadowens, Ryan Shadowens, Ashlie & Tyler Cole, Timothy & April Peterson, Kelsie Olkoski, Sarah Olkoski, Kayla & Brandon Teal, Shay Olkoski, and Heather Olkoski; four great grandchildren, Hallie, Cambrie, Ella and Nora; brother and sister-in-law, Ronald & Cindy Shadowens of Murphysboro, IL; sister, Shirley Smith of Murphysboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jim Shadowens; grandson, Branden Hewlett; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Lois Shadowens, James Shadowens and Dale Shadowens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Catherine & Earnest Stephens, Eula Mae Brown, Phyllis and Gene Lows, and Mildred Theissen.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at the Royalton Church of the Nazarene, 412 West 3rd Street South, Royalton, IL 62983 with Rev. Bob Flowers officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 6, 2023 at the church. Interment will be at Zeigler Cemetery in Zeigler, IL. Memorial donations may be made to the Royalton Church of the Nazarene, 412 West 3rd Street South, Royalton, IL 62983; envelopes will be available at the church.
