Shane D. Akins, 63, of Fruitvale, passed away November 15, 2025, in Tyler. He was born August 7, 1962, in Dallas, to Delbert Ray and Ruby Eldred Akins. He spent all of his life in Grand Saline and attended Roundflat Pentecostal Church.
Shane loved hunting, fishing, and especially enjoyed grilling. He treasured time with his family, most of all his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Sandy Curtis Akins.
Survivors include his two daughters, Sheena Lively of Joshua and Brittany Grimes of Athens; brother, Roy Akins and wife Nancy of Grand Saline; five sisters, Sharon Stanley and husband Eddie Alfred of Grand Saline, Lynna Renberg and husband Rodney of Payne Springs, Vickie Dugan and husband Butch of Grand Saline, Tina Carroll and husband Dale of Grand Saline, and Christie Akins of Grand Saline; three grandchildren, Trynity, Cayson, and Birdie; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Services for Shane will be hosted by his family at 1 p.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 9510 FM 17, Grand Saline, TX.
