Shane Hoag Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by West Funeral Home & Life Tribute Center - West Fargo on Apr. 2, 2024.
Shane Patrick Hoag, 49, passed away on Sunday, March 31st, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Shane was born September 1, 1974, in Fargo, ND to Myron and Patty (Sullivan) Hoag. He grew up in a loving, supportive family in Harwood, ND with his older sister Toni and twin brother Nathan. He attended school in West Fargo and at Dakota High School in Arthur, where he met his future wife, Tracey. Together, they began a family and settled in Hunter, ND where Shane founded Pro Chassis, a dirt track racecar fabrication company. In 2001, Shane sold the business and moved his family to Luverne, MN to help set up production for the new owners. They became active members of the Luverne community and found commonality, strength in spirit, and unconditional love as members of the Living Rock Church.
Following the death of his wife Tracey in 2017 and his brother Nathan in 2019, Shane moved back to Hunter to take over the Hoag family farm. Though his first love was metal fabrication, he remained committed to continuing the successful operation of the farm until his death.
Shane was a lover of life. He enjoyed many hobbies and passions including hunting, fishing, dirt track racing from his Luverne days, tossing bags with friends, and camping. Always ready with a smile, a joke, or a conversation, Shane was an engaging soul that never met a stranger. He loved a good bonfire, not only sitting by them but building them. He marveled and appreciated many of God's wonders, big and small, sunrises and sunsets, lightning storms, serene lakes, and the beauty of the land.
It was his unwavering love for his family and steadfast commitment to his faith in God that carried him through some of his darkest days.
There is no question that Shane's departure comes as a great shock and with a deep wound. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and he would want everyone to know that he was more than prepared and eager to meet his Lord and Savior and to be reunited with the love of his life Tracey and kindred soul Nathan.
Shane is survived by his three children, Wyatt (Markie), Jaden, and Shyanne, two grandsons Arthur and Kale, sister Toni (Ray) and nephew Jack Kordek, his parents Myron and Patty Hoag, brother-in-law Ryan (Addie), nieces Brea and Audra Nohr, mother-in-law Sandy Nohr. He is preceded in death by his twin brother Nathan, infant brother Eric Allen, wife Tracey Lee (Nohr) Hoag, father-in-law Daryle Nohr, and grandparents Jack and Betty Hoag.
Celebration of Life: Thursday, April 4, 2024, at 2 pm in West Funeral Home, West Fargo, ND, with visitation held one hour prior to his service.
Interment: Arthur (ND) Cemetery at a later date.
