Shane Leahy

NEWINGTON- Shane Leahy, 41, passed away on October 6, 2025, in Newington, CT.
Shane was born on September 11, 1984 in New Britain, CT. Shane graduated from Plainville High school in 2003 and went on to earn a bachelors degree from UCONN, Summa Cum Laude and Babbidge scholar, in 2007.
He started his career helping with the family landscaping business followed by staffing and recruitment roles post college and progressed to an HR generalist.
Shane was an accomplished guitarist, singer, song writer, composer and producer who played many instruments such as but not limited to piano, banjo, bass, drums and dabbled in the violin. Shane never missed an opportunity to perform live in front of audiences and co-founded and hosted an open mic night for aspiring artists. Shane earned a black belt in Kempo martial arts, was an avid reader, and loved animals.
Shane was pre-deceased by his father Robert F. Leahy of Plainville, CT. He is survived by his mother Joanne Leahy of Newington, CT, and his brothers, Erik Jones of Newington, CT and Zachary Jones of Wayne, PA. He was also survived by his sister-in-law, Cynthia Jones, nieces, Samantha Jones and Michelle Spyros, and his Aunt and Uncle, Patricia and William Burnham of Coventry, CT.
The service and visitation for Shane Leahy will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad St., Plainville, CT followed by a reception at Paul Gregory's at 168 Center St., Southington, CT.
