Shane Michael McGaughey, 54 from Arvada Colorado passed away on Monday 12/30/2024 at Lutheran Hospital surrounded by family. Shane was a Colorado native growing up in the Arvada area. Graduating from Arvada West and then attending School of Mines studying electrical engineering. Shane was part of the Beacon Communications family for more than 10 years working his way up the ranks to hold the position of Security Field Operations Manager. Shane enjoyed spending his time with his wife Nancy and family whether it was at a family get together or up at the family compound in Bond, Co fishing, riding four-wheelers, hiking, and enjoying the time with family. Shane had a special passion for his vegetable garden that he built and tended to each year. Shane and Nancy would start each season with growing everything from seed. When it came time to harvest, they would make salsa, spaghetti sauce, and many other favorites that they canned. Shane then would share these bounties with everyone to enjoy. Shane also enjoyed remodeling not only his home but also helping family and friends with theirs, this is a trait that he and his brother Brant learned at a young age from their father Dan. Left to mourn this great loss are his wife Nancy Henshaw, Mother Candice McGaughey, brother Brant (Michelle) McGaughey, Nephews Dean (Ayla) McGaughey, Dalton (Heather) McGaughey, several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and a multitude of friends. Who all loved him very much. Shane is preceded in death by his father Dan, and his uncle Bill.
