Shane C. Stone, age 64, of Mount Vernon, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 10, 1961, in Olean, New York, to Danny and Cheryl (Roulo) Stone.

Shane graduated from Portville Central High School in 1979 and then joined the United States Air Force where he served his country proudly from 1979-1983.

Shane was a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks #140 in Mount Vernon, and Lifepoint Church. He was also a member of International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) Local 37 based in Columbus, Ohio. Shane enjoyed camping, boating, fishing, golfing, playing guitar and singing, and bowling. Most of all, he loved being around his family.

Shane is survived by his wife, Patty (Hines) Stone; children, Rheannon (Nick) Coleman, Melissa Stone, Senneca (Ariann) Stone, Chase (Paige) Stone; grandchildren, Julia, Makaylia, Gavyn, Shane, Landon, Kaiden, Addison, Trey, Liam, Brilynn, and S. Abraham; a sister, Beth (Jack) Holcomb; a brother, Garth (Katelyn) Stone; several nieces and nephews.

Shane is preceded in death by his mother, Cheryl Stone; a son, Brandon Stone; and a brother, Heath Stone.

A celebration of life service will take place at a later date.

The Snyder Funeral Homes in Mount Vernon are honored to serve the family of Shane C. Stone.
