Shane Thurman

Shane Michael Thurman, 52, of Brookfield, IL died unexpectedly on June 6th, 2022. His loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened. Shane was born on December 2, 1969, to Michael Thurman & Diane Knudsen in Scott County, IA. Shane was a father of 3 to Agnes Grace Sullivan, Tyler Thurman, and Alexis Thurman. He was a big brother to Heather(Lundeen)Zoppa, A.J. Lundeen Jr., and Rhyan Lundeen. His love for his family was unmeasurable, he was an incredible uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Shane attended Moline High School and was one of their best athletes. After High School, Shane went into the Army and served 2 years upon which he was honored the Distinguished Soldier Award. He then became an Advanced Chef and worked at various restaurants. One of his favorite things to do was cook for his family and friends. He worked as a Carpenter and specialized in tile and flooring. Shane loved playing disc golf and was very competitive in Trivia. Shane's laughter was contagious and his jokes were endless. Shane's family and friends will miss him more than words can say. We will be having a Celebration of Life on June 25th at Ricky D's in Lyons, IL from 2-5 pm. A service at the Rock Island Arsenal will be held at a later date.
