Shannon Gill, 51, of Waymart passed away peacefully Thursday morning, March 6, 2025 at Wayne Woodlands Manor, after a courageous battle against cancer.
Born May 1, 1973 in Carbondale, she was the daughter of the late Thomas "Barry" Gill and Anita M. Yasnovitch Roche.
Shannon was a 1991 graduate of Carbondale Area High School. She later attended college in Massachusetts where she studied photography and graduated with an Associate's Degree. For many years, Shannon worked at Wayne County 911 where she was a CAD Operator. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with loved ones at Elk Lake, and was also an avid gardener. Shannon dearly loved her dog, Hannah, and her cat, Finn, and was always grateful to have them in her life. She was a kind and generous person whose life seems to have been all to brief. She will be lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Shannon is survived by her brother, Michael Gill and his wife Deborah of Waymart; her step-father, Maurice "Butch" Roche of Waymart; and her step-mother, Shirley Gill of Honesdale.
In accordance with Shannon's wishes, there will be no public services.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shannon's memory to: The Four Diamonds, Office of University Development MCCA 530, P.O. Box 852, Hershey, PA 17033.
