1985-2025
Shannon Catherine Haley, 39, passed away on Friday May 2, 2025 in Brunswick, Maine. Shannon was born on May 15, 1985 to Donna and Robert Mazyck. She received her diploma from Oakmont Regional High School and an associates degree in Fire Science and Paramedicine from Southern Maine Community College. While attending Southern Maine Community College, Shannon was part of the SMCC live-in program. She was a firefighter for the Windham Fire Department while pursuing Fire Science and a firefighter for the Scarborough Fire Department while pursuing Paramedicine.
Shannon's current employment was a Career Lieutenant/Paramedic with the Scarborough Fire Department. She held many titles before this as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Windham Fire Department, Firefighter/Paramedic with the Buxton Fire Department, Adjunct Faculty with SMCC Paramedicine Program, RN with Southern Maine Medical Center in Biddeford, and RN with St Mary's Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. She was also a member of the Scarborough Professional Firefighters IAFF Local 3894, a camp counselor for Portland Firefighters Fire and Ice Burn Camp, and captain of the Scarborough Fire Departments ALA Fight for Air Stair Climb.
Shannon loved strolling the beach, snowshoeing, and running. She enjoyed crafting, trying new recipes and camping with her dogs. Above all, Shannon cherished her family and friends and enjoyed family gatherings and playing games.
She is predeceased by her father, Robert A. Mazyck, and her brother, John Mazyck. She is survived by her husband, Mark E. Haley of West Bath, her mother, Donna Mazyck of Leominister, MA, her sisters, Rebecca Boisseau and husband Tim of Edmond, OK, and Leann Carroll and husband Casey of Wayland, MA, her brothers, James Mazyck of Fitchburg, MA, Kevin Mazyck of Leominister, MA, Matthew Mazyck of Charlton, MA, Daniel Mazyck of Leominister, MA, and Nicholas Mazyck and wife Ivory of Oxford, MA, mother-in-law, Deb Jacobs and husband Marc of South Berwick, ME, father-in-law, Bart Haley and partner Diane Belanger of Sanford, ME, sister-in-law's Lauren Haley of Dover, NH, Sarah Jacobs of Kittery, ME, and Emily Haley of Vero Beach, Fl, and nieces and nephews, Jack and Samantha Boisseau of Edmond, OK, and Hunter Carroll of Wayland, MA.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 11 AM to 3 PM at the Landing at Pine Point, 353 Pine Point Road, Scarborough, ME.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Portland Firefighters Children's Burn Foundation
