LANCASTER, SC ~ Shannon Marie Stone Johnson passed away peacefully at home in Lancaster, South Carolina, on October 22, 2025, at the age of 29.

Born on December 31, 1995-just four hours shy of the New Year-Shannon entered the world into the loving arms of her mother and father, bringing light, intelligence, and compassion to everyone who knew her.

Shannon was passionate about animals, cherished her friends, and would drop anything to help someone in need. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, warm smile, and generous heart. Her presence could fill a room, and she lived her life unapologetically and authentically.

During the COVID pandemic, Shannon earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Columbia College, graduating summa cum laude and with honors, all while working a full-time job. Her accomplishments reflected not only her gifted mind but also her deep care for others and her desire to understand the human heart.

Shannon's generosity, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the many lives she touched: her father, Steve A. Johnson; mother, Carol L. Stone; sister, Lauren K. Johnson; six uncles and their families; seventeen cousins; and lifelong friend, Kelly Ravalese.

She is now at peace in the welcoming presence of her grandmothers, Bonnie J. Johnson and Leanne A. Stone; grandfathers, John Johnson and Charles R. Stone; her uncle, Charles R. Stone Jr.; and many beloved cats, dogs, and guinea pigs-along with countless online friends whose lives she brightened.

When she was little, Shannon would often ask, "Do you want to hear a story?"
Her family will forever wish for one more story-one that ends with her at peace.

In lieu of flowers, tax-deductible donations can be made in Shannon's name to the American Humane Society: https://gofund.me/d22174527
