Shari Coffey is affectionately remembered for her love of family and friends, her intelligence and perseverance, her delightfully quick sense of humor and her unwavering Christian faith. She died peacefully on Thursday, June 16, 2022, in Prescott, Arizona.
Sharon "Shari" Lynn Coffey was born in Wichita, Kansas, to Clarence V. and Lola L. (Louis) Cooper on July 8, 1942. She enjoyed growing up with her siblings, Joan and Jay, in Wichita and Clay Center, Nebraska. Soon after graduating high school in Wichita in 1960, she took employment in Denver, Colorado, where she met her husband, Jim Coffey, whom she married in 1965. They welcomed two beloved daughters into their lives, Tracy and Kimberly.
Shari was proud to devote her entire career in civil service. After serving with the USDA Forest Service in Denver, she accepted a position in 1981 with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in Prescott, Arizona. She was then promoted to work with the VA in Dallas, Texas, where she served as an IT systems analyst for many years. Following retirement, she and her husband returned to Arizona to be near their family.
Shari was a prolific reader and enjoyed keeping current with technology. She greatly appreciated art, music and nature. She was especially fond of watercolor art and enjoyed painting and taking watercolor classes, and her enjoyment of the piano also led to taking lessons through the years.
A lifelong member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Shari used her leadership and talents in serving her church families through the years. In recent years, Shari has worshipped at the Prescott Seventh-day Adventist Church in Prescott, Arizona.
In her late 60s, Shari was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS), and while this brought on challenges, she did not complain. Her determination to not allow MS to completely control her enjoyment of life is inspiring.
Shari is survived by her daughter, Kim (Coffey) Lincoln, of Prescott, Arizona; grandchildren Cora Lincoln, Kaden Lincoln and honorary grandson Dominic Valk; brother and sister-in-law, Jay and Suzanne Cooper, of Wichita, Kansas; brother-in-law, Bob Crouch of Columbia, Missouri; as well as by her nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy (Coffey) Cambron; husband, Jim Coffey; sister, Joan (Cooper) Crouch; and her parents.
Shari Coffey will be laid to rest privately at Hillcrest Cemetery in Florence, Kansas.

I had missed getting cards from Shari and she had been on my mind for days. I was so sad to read this. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. She was first my coworker at the Dallas ISC and then my boss, but I always considered her a friend. She was a wonderful sweet woman that I have missed over the years.

I have so many wonderful memories of who I always called Mom #2. She always treated me like family and welcomed me any time. She always had a smile on her face and I can´t remember her ever being in a bad mood. She was such a good role model and I always wanted to strive to achieve her level of amazing work ethic. Even though she worked full time, she always made time for us girls. She was always sure to make birthdays incredibly special every year. I will never forget the amazing woman I lovingly called Mom#2.
