Shari Lynn Denham, 67, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning in the home she loved alongside her husband of 33 years, Billy "Yarby" Denham, after a long heroic fight. Shari was born on January 29, 1958, in Sacramento, CA, to Tom Moydell and the late Edna Eubanks, both of Fort Gibson. Shari leaves behind her devoted husband Yarby, her son Adam Hodgin and his partner Liz Rogers, her two grandsons Aidan and Turner, who lit up her world. She has two sisters, Kelly St.Claire and her husband Ron of Tahlequah, OK and Pam Sharp-Nolan of Cypress, TX, a stepbrother, Colin Curry of Houston, TX, stepsisters, Angie Dentler of Houston, TX, Kathy Hutchens, and Sabrina Deeringwater and her husband Dan, all of Fort Gibson. Shari was blessed to have a loving stepfather, Mike Curry of Schulenburg, TX, and her stepmother, Lucille Moydell, also of Fort Gibson. She is also leaving behind many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Shari formed many treasured friendships throughout her lifetime. She had a profound relationship with the Lord and enjoyed attending church with Adam and his family. She will be remembered by many as the most loving and giving person they would ever meet. Shari has been, as she called herself, a "wandering gypsy" since her beginning, and she loved the life she lived. She was a world traveler with a passport to make anyone envious. Shari and Yarby met where they were both employed by Zachary. Shari was an electrical coordinator and proudly wore the nickname "Tag Hag" on her hard hat. She loved climbing the structures just for the view. This job took Shari all over the United States, living from Wyoming to Amelia Island, Florida. She traveled with Yarby as he worked from Malaysia to Shanghai, from Indonesia to Canada. She climbed the Great Wall of China and fished on the Gulf of Mexico. This earned her the nickname "Shanghai Shari" among many of her friends. Shari unequivocally loved her music, preferably in person. Her concert ticket stub collection reflects her attendance at the greatest Rock and Roll legends of her lifetime, and she shared this love with her son, Adam. Some of Shari's most treasured moments were just her and Adam sitting alone together in her truck listening to music and talking into the night. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren; she spent countless days and nights with them over the years, with many laughs and tickle fights. Christmas and birthdays were her favorite. She loved to find that "just right" present for every person, sometimes spending months or years trying to find the right one. Shari was loud and bigger than life, putting everyone else first. She loved everyone, but she loved her grandkids the most. "Bigger than the earth and higher than the sky" she would always say. A viewing will be held from 12PM-7PM on Friday, July 25, 2025, with the family receiving friends from 5PM-7PM at Clifford D Garrett Family Funeral Home in Fort Gibson. Shari's life will be celebrated 10AM Saturday, July 26, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Fort Gibson with Pastor Logan Lambert officiating.
