Shari J. Smith, age 40 of Monroe, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023 at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. She had been seriously ill for three months.
Born April 22, 1983 in Monroe, Shari is the daughter of William "Jack" and Michelle (Warner) Clouse. She graduated from Monroe High School in 2001 and married Jeffrey S. Smith on August 20, 2005 at Evergreen Acres Missionary Baptist Church.
Shari was employed as a CENA at the IHM Motherhouse for several years and most recently at Medilodge of Monroe until her recent illness.
Shari was a collector of Gnomes and Russian Matryoshka Nesting Dolls. Even though she enjoyed listening to music, attending concerts, and watching murder documentaries, nothing meant more in her life than her children. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Shari is survived by her husband Jeff; three children, Elijah, Jonah, and Lolah; her parents, Jack and Michelle Clouse of Monroe; brother, Matthew (Brandy) Clouse of Monroe; grandparents, William and Vera Warner of Monroe; niece, Alysa Clouse of Monroe; several step nieces and nephews; and her lifetime best friend, Misty (Dan) Stelmach of Charlevoix, MI.
Shari was preceded in death by grandparents, Everett and Dorothy Clouse.
Family and friends may visit from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 30th at Bacarella Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday. Family friend, Charles Pipkin will officiate. Cremation will follow in accordance with her wishes at Roselawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests supporting Shari's favorite charity, St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
