In Loving Memory of Sharlet Debra Talbot
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Sharlet Debra Talbot, 72 of Oregon City, Oregon passed away on November 20, 2024. She left us peacefully, surrounded by love, after just a few short days on hospice.
Sharlet was born on August 28, 1952 to Wilbur and Hazel Lewis in Klamath Falls, OR. She has two siblings, Lyle Lewis from Springfield, OR and Carla Lewis from Klamath Falls, OR.
After Sharlet graduated from Klamath High School in 1970, she went on to study at Oregon Institute of Technology where she decided she wanted to come up with her own career path. During that time, she met her husband, Donald Ray Talbot and began the path of buying a home and raising children.
In 1970, Sharlet married Donald Talbot and moved to Portland for Donald's job. They lived in Portland for 3 years and then moved the family to Oregon City where she was proud to say they purchased a house that backed up to an orchard. Sharlet and Donald had 5 children, Johnathan Edward Talbot, Paul Adam Talbot, Mark Daniel Talbot, Rebecca Dawn Talbot, and Matthew Ray Talbot.
Sharlet worked for Fred Meyers for about 30 years, she mainly worked in the shoe department but would help anywhere that was needed. Once Sharlet retired, she spent her time taking care of her husband Donald's battle with cancer. In her free time she enjoyed watching her grandchildren and spending time with loved ones. She had a joy for scrapbooking and wanted to create a whole office dedicated to just scrapbooking.
Sharlet was very proud of all 11 of her grandchildren, Evie, Carlee, Brenden, Hadley, Julia, Logan, Maya, Gabe, Tristan, Whitney & Justin.
Sharlet was very much into her faith and trusted that she was following in the path of Jesus. She belonged to Oregon Trail Fellowship and really enjoyed Pastor Darrell and Sandy. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart; don't rely on your own intelligence. Know him in all your paths, and he will keep your ways straight."
Sharlet was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur and Hazel Lewis; and husband, Donald Ray Talbot. She is survived by her brother, Lyle Lewis; sister, Carla Lewis; children & their spouses, John & Sonya Talbot, Paul & Marie Talbot, Mark & Shari Talbot, Becky & Shawn Steed, and Matt & Christina Talbot. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Evie Cotterill, Carlee Cotterill, Brenden Suncire, Hadley Talbot, Julia Steed, Logan Steed, Maya Steed, Whitney Talbot, Justin Talbot, Gabe Talbot, and Tristan Talbot.
She was our guiding light, and while the pain of her loss is immeasurable, we are comforted by the cherished memories she leaves behind.
Her warmth, her laughter, and her boundless ability to care for those around her will never be forgotten.
