Sharon Elizabeth Babcock-Robideau, born on November 28, 1946, in Ayer, MA, was an extraordinary woman whose life was characterized by her ambitious spirit, talented nature, loving heart, and generous soul. Sharon's love for learning and literature was evident from her early years and remained a guiding light throughout her life. After a successful career in production control for Raytheon Company - Equipment Division in Waltham for 27 years, she retired in Gardner, Massachusetts, where she dedicated her time and energy to fostering a love for reading in her community.
Sharon's passion for books wasn't limited to her own consumption; she actively engaged with others in their literary journeys. She was an engaged member of the Levi Heywood Memorial Library Friends, and as a testament to her ambitious nature, for several years, she headed the residents' council at Heywood Wakefield Commons where she resided. Her talented, generous spirit shone through her work as a Title 1 reading tutor for the Gardner school system, and as a reading tutor for the Gardner House of Peace and Education, Inc. She also ran the book/movie group at the Commons, ensuring that the joy of literature was shared and appreciated by many.
Sharon's loving spirit extended to her family, and she leaves behind her cherished daughter, Eileen Bouvier, her siblings Gary Babcock, Rebecca Babcock, Julie Babcock, Gail Babcock and Brian Babcock. She joins in eternal rest her beloved parents, George and Irene Babcock, and her late husband, Robert Robideau. Sharon's life was a beautiful testament to the power of ambition, the beauty of talent, the warmth of love, and the joy of generosity. Her legacy will continue to inspire and influence many generations to come.
In these shared moments, we can continue to celebrate the life of this remarkable woman who touched so many lives with her love for literature and her deep commitment to education and community service.
