Sharon Lynn Bailey, 69 of Pecks Mill, passed away Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at CAMC General.
She was born March 13, 1955, in Holden, WV, the daughter of the late Dewey and Evelyn Brumfield.
In addition to her parents, she was processed in death by her loving husband, James "Rusty" Bailey; three brothers, Charlie, Larry, and Kenny; three nephews, Kenny "Bub" Adkins, Shawn Bailey, and Eric Bailey; and two nieces, Haley Adkins and Tammy Waller; three brother-in-laws, Bud (Ella) Bailey, Ronnie (Nancy) Bailey, and Bit Bailey; one sister-in-law, Dee (Bob) Endicott; and her friend, Cathy Luther.
Sharon is best known for her contagious smile, her giving heart, and her cooking. She had a love for helping others with any project and usually ended up coordinating it. In the summertime you could find her on the porch swing stringing beans or eating watermelon with salt. Sharon was a proud member of the Girl Scouts, she acted as a field director at Black Diamond Girl Scout Council and then later a leader. She was a true Scout - honest, brave, courageous, a friend to all and a sister to every other Girl Scout.
Sharon was the wife of the late Rusty Bailey who she loved for more than 50 years, a love so strong they just couldn't live without each other. Sharon was also a mother to Staci and Stephanie. She taught them how to cook the best food, be a best friend, and love the lord. Sharon was a grandmother to "her girls" Sadie and Maddy who she loved so much. She is also a great grandmother to Averly and James who were her entire world. She was always so supportive and involved with anything her kids did. From PTA and Girl Scouts to softball and theater. She was there and helping.
Sharon is survived her daughters, Staci Bailey and Stephanie (Jimmy) Mullins; granddaughters, Sadie Mullins and Maddy (William) Turner; great grandchildren, Averly and James; sisters, Dorothy (Bo) Ellis, Tammy Adkins, Melody Bryant; brother; David (Melinda) Brumfield; brothers-in-law, Skip (Diana) Bailey and Bob (Loraine) Bailey; sister-in-law, Tina Bailey; and a large amount of nieces and nephews who she loved very much. Also, by special family, Dee and Sue White, Carl and Karen Ann Lambert, and their kids and grandkids. Also, by her friend, Brenda Barker.
She was a member of a special group of retired Girl Scout leaders who met every once in a while, to catch up and talk called "the Whiners and Diners".
"Make new friends, but keep the old. One is silver; the other is gold.
A circle is round; it has no end. That's how long I will be your friend."
Services will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at Freeman Funeral Home with Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Pecks Mill, WV.
Visitation will be on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm at the funeral home.
