Born August 6 1947 in Hartner, KS to her loving mother Hanna Bell (Downing) Joy. Sharon lived in Wichita Ks her entire life. She grew up in the center of Wichita at third and Wabash later moved to south Wichita, where she attended South high school graduated 1966. She met the love of her life Milton Barrett. They were married 47 years. They had a one child together. Sharon was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother and friend. She was a caregiver to her husband who was ill for over 30 years, she never broke her vows, she would always say that she told him for better for worse sickness and health that meant something to her. She later adoped her two granddaughters Lindsey (Barrett) Erlich and Lexi (Barrett) Schiefelbein when they were both 5 months old. She gave them a beautiful and wonderful life full of love and affection. She rescued them from what could have been a horrible upbringing. Sharon and Milton did not have much but they did have love and they sacrificed so much for there girls that we're never grandkids they were always daughters. Sharon alway made sure they knew what love was. There was never a time she would not come up with a way to give her girls everything they needed and asked for.

Sharon was a selfless and beautiful soul who would give everything she had to help the ones that she loved. Those that know Sharon as a friend knew she was there biggest advocate and alway under any circumstances would have there back. Anybody that knew Sharon knew they were a friend for life. She battled many fights with Cancer and came on the other side with such grace. Sharon was a force to be reckoned with! Strong willed does not even begin to describe her spirit. She was truly an admirable, compassionate human being. Sharon's youngest daughter son-in-law, select family and dear friends stuck by her side through all the ups and downs and bumps along the way. Lexi was truly honored to call Sharon her mother and best friend. She believed her mother deserved the best out of her because that's what Sharon gave her. Sharon was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer June 26th 2024. She chose to be at home and love her family friends and most of all her pride and joy her grandson Wylder Schiefelbein. Wylder was crazy about his grandma. He will forever have her spirit, and there bond will never be broken or forgotten.
