Sharon Kay Billings, 74, passed away September 18, 2023, in Gun Barrel City, Texas. She was born on May 4, 1949, in Dallas, Texas to parents K. Vernon and Mary Helen (McBride) Woody.

Sharon lived a life filled with passion and creativity. She was a businesswoman with her own beauty salon for over 30 years where she not only cut hair but solved all the problems of the world and gave the local newspaper a run for their money with all the comings and goings around the lake area. She was a great storyteller, captivating those around her with her colorful tales. Her friendly nature made her a social butterfly, and she never met a stranger. Sharon had a natural ability to connect with people and make them feel valued and heard. One of Sharon's greatest passions was music and art. She expressed herself through various mediums, such as oils, pastels, charcoal, and watercolors. Her creativity knew no bounds as she brought beauty to life on or off a canvas. She found solace and joy in painting and used it as an outlet for self-expression.

In addition to her artistic talent, Sharon was a talented singer-songwriter. She had a beautiful voice that touched the hearts of many. Whether she was teaching, leading the church choir, or performing for others, her melodic tunes left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to hear her sing. Sharon was known to be an avid reader. She particularly enjoyed reading murder mysteries and romance novels. As an active member of the church community, Sharon played an integral role in spreading love and kindness through her service. She dedicated her time as an Adult Sunday school teacher, president of the ladies auxiliary, church treasurer, the choir director and song leader. Not only was Sharon a gifted artist and musician but she also possessed remarkable culinary skills. Her German chocolate cake was renowned for its decadence, and her broccoli and cheese rice casserole was a comfort food favorite.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, K. Vernon and Mary Helen Woody, brother, Billy Wayne Woody, nephew, David, Woody and grandson, Spencer Heath Billings.

Sharon is survived by her son, Brandon Billings and wife Sheila of Mabank, TX; son, Brian Billings and wife Erika of Rockwall, TX; daughter, Brittney Shellito of Tool, TX; grandchildren, Heather, Rachael, Lucas, Madalene, Samuel, Nathaniel, Benjamin, Hailey, Jayden, Skyler, great grandchildren, Gabriel, Ty, Amethyst, Aaliyah, Artemis, Wyatt, and sister, Donna Bird Eason and husband Leonard of Gun Barrel City, TX; as well as her nieces and nephews, other extended family and friends.
