Sharon Bourland Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heeney-Sundquist Funeral Home - Farmington on Mar. 10, 2026.
Sharon Bourland passed away unexpectedly at her home on March 9. Though she lived a quiet and private life, the kindness she showed-to both people and animals-left a lasting mark on those around her.

Sharon was a humble soul who never cared for attention and preferred life's simple moments over celebration. She was the kind of person who did good quietly, giving far more than she ever asked for in return. Even something as simple as her birthday was something she preferred to pass without notice, as she never wanted a fuss made over herself.

The truest reflection of Sharon's heart could be seen in her love for animals. She had a deep and genuine compassion for every creature that crossed her path. Neighborhood birds, squirrels, and stray animals always seemed to find their way to her yard, where they could count on a meal and a little kindness. Caring for them was never a chore to her-it was simply part of who she was.

Her home was also shared with the companions she loved dearly: a cockatoo and two Amazon parrots, who filled her days with life and conversation. Animals were never just pets to Sharon; they were friends and family, and she gave them the same quiet devotion that defined the way she lived her life.

Sharon is survived by her brother, Harold (Vesta) Cassie, and her sister, Patricia (Rick) Cray.

Honoring Sharon's wishes, no funeral service will be held. She will be remembered as a gentle and compassionate soul whose quiet kindness made the world a softer place-for every creature lucky enough to cross her path.

Sharon will forever be in my heart. The words spoken in the obituary couldn´t be more truer. I was certainly a recipient of her kind, caring and spirited heart. I am truly grateful for the life of Sharon Bourland. She was a little lady with the biggest heart. Rest well my friend. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family.

Sharon and I shared an office for several years. She was meticulous, service oriented, and had a wealth of knowledge of all of the clients on our payroll system. She also had a very strong work ethic. There were many times we didn´t leave the office till after 7 o´clock.

Sharon was also very funny. She had a sarcastic streak, a quick wit, and was a great story teller. If she ever wanted to switch careers, she could have been a comedian.

So true about Sharon and animals. Her parrot McAllister meant the world to her. He could always be heard in the background if you had called Sharon at home. The one parrot that plucked it's feathers all the time, she called a work in progress. Lol. Sharon had a lot of compassion that was recognized by the payroll clients she worked with. Nothing escaped Sharon's watchful eye in making sure everything was in alignment to produce their payroll. Her many contributions to the payroll world is part of her legacy.
It is true she didn't like to be the center of attention.
I will miss her friendship we shared on a daily work basis. She was a true asset, no pun intended to all who knew her.
