Sharon Boyce Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service - North Chapel on Jan. 6, 2026.
Sharon A. Boyce, 85, of Marion, passed away peacefully at 1:42 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Marion Health.
She was born on April 4, 1940, in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to Warland A. Artis, Sr. and Irene (Matthews) Lake. In 1986, Sharon married Charles Franklin Boyce, and they shared 20 loving years together until his passing in 2006.
Sharon dedicated 28 years of service to Foster Forbes, where she worked in production packaging before retiring. She lived a life rooted in love, laughter, and faith, finding joy in simple pleasures such as doing puzzles, going to the movies, and cruising around town. Sharon enjoyed watching her favorite television programs-especially game shows and soap operas-and in her younger years, she loved bowling. She cherished the many bus trips she took with her mother, as well as the travels she shared with her beloved husband, Charles. Above all else, Sharon treasured spending time with her family and those she loved dearly.
Faith was an important part of Sharon's life. One of her most meaningful moments was giving her life to Christ at a young age, and she later reaffirmed her faith by rededicating her life on July 17, 2023. Sharon is survived by her daughters, Regina Keys of Indianapolis, Indiana; Julia (Pastor Al Green) Green of Marion, Indiana; and Angela (Calvin Harris); and her sons, Benjamin L. (Sandra) Artis of Dayton, Ohio; Less Moore III of Marion, Indiana; Eugene Moore of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Robert Moore of Marion, Indiana; and James (Carol) Keys of Marion, Indiana. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Additionally, she is survived by her siblings, Margaret Jones, Henrietta Thomas, Bismillah Farahkhan, and Arthur (Dorothy) Shipp; and her sister-in-law, Diane Artis.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles Franklin Boyce; her daughters, Edwadleena Winters and Flora Keys; her son, Donald Moore; her sister, Gwendolyn L. Gordon; and her brothers, Warland Artis Jr., Henry Shipp Jr., James Knight, and Raymond Knight, along with other beloved family members.
A private homegoing celebration will be held, with burial at Grant Memorial Park.
