Kenneth Messer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service - North Chapel on Feb. 26, 2026.
Kenneth Ray Messer, 62, of Marion, passed away at 2 am on Thursday, February 26, 2026, in Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana, on July 11, 1963, to Aaron and Jeraldine (Howe) Messer. On May 22, 1992, he married the love of his life, June A. Rector.

Kenny graduated from Marion High School in 1982 and later attended Marion College. He worked toward earning his pilot's license, reflecting his adventurous spirit and love of learning. He worked in sales and had a true passion for fishing and cooking. He also worked for years as a forklift operator with General Motors and was a proud member of the UAW.

Kenny was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He loved his family deeply and took great joy in watching his children and grandchildren grow. He devoted his life to loving and providing for his family. His greatest fulfillment came from knowing those he loved were supported, protected, and cared for. His love was most often expressed through quiet acts of service - in the long hours he worked, the steady presence he offered, and the countless sacrifices he made without hesitation. He gave of himself freely and selflessly.

Though he carried great responsibility, he also carried great humor and charm. His quick wit and charming personality filled every room, gifting his family and friends with laughter that will echo in their hearts forever. His sacrifice, service, and unmistakable charisma are the legacy he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, June A. Messer of Marion; his son, Brian Hendrix (Monica) of Kokomo; his daughter, Rachel Messer of Indianapolis; his son, Aaron (Jordan Koshubuski) Messer of Indianapolis; his grandchildren, Cash Hendrix, Laken Messer, Isla Messer, and Denny June-Koshubuski Messer; his sister, Linda (Gene) McNutt of Marion; his brother, Bill (Karen) Messer of Kokomo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aaron and Jeraldine Messer; his father-in-law, Delmar Rector; and his nephew, Chad Powell.

The family will receive visitors from 10 am to 12:00 noon on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Needham-Story-Wampler Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 North Baldwin Avenue, Marion, Indiana. A service to celebrate Kenneth's life will begin at 12:00 noon with burial to follow at Gardens of Memories Cemetery.
