Mitchell Boyer

Mitchell E. Boyer, 66, of Marion, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, February 23, 2026, in Marion. He was born on July 13, 1959, in Marion, Indiana, to Earnest and Joan (Zabst) Boyer. On April 3, 1995, he married the love of his life, Deborah (Clark) Boyer.

Mitch was a graduate of Marion High School. He worked at RCA for 15 years until it closed. Mitch then went through training at Lincoln Tech and was a diesel mechanic for many years with Hiner Transport, where he built a reputation for skill, dedication, and craftsmanship. He was previously involved with ABATE. A true outdoorsman, Mitch was a "Dead Eye Marksman", loved hunting, fishing, camping, and especially riding his Road King Harley along with gardening and then some. He was known for being an exceptional mechanic who enjoyed tinkering with anything that had an engine. His easygoing nature and willingness to help others made him a friend to many.

Mitch is survived by his wife, Deborah Boyer of Marion; his son, Aaron (Heather) McWhirt of Marion; his daughter, Cassandra Galway of Huntington; grandchildren, Maci Reust, Malia Galway, Aries Stoner, and Robbie Stoner; his brother, Mike (Penny) Boyer of Marion; sisters, Tammy (John) Vetor of Marion and Teri (Bill) Glessner of Marion; his beloved dog, Sassy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Buck Boyer; mother, Joan Boyer; and his grandson, Mason Galway, along with other loved ones who welcomed him home.

Family and friends may gather from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

A service celebrating Mitchell's life will begin at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Neese Cemetery near Frankton, IN
