Sharon Lee (Schwiesow) Carbon, age 75 of Highbridge, WI, passed away at her residence on Sunday, Sept 1, 2024. Sharon was born August 27, 1949 in Ashland, WI. Sharon was the daughter of Charles and Elaine (Benedict) Schwiesow. She married Paul Carbon on July 13, 1973. They were married for 51 years.
Sharon graduated from Glidden High School in 1967. She was employed at Munsingwear, INC in Ashland for 10 years and in 2012 she retired from Columbia Forest Products of Mellen, WI after 35 years.
Sharon had a "green thumb" and always had a bountiful garden full of produce that she canned each year. She enjoyed feeding and watching the birds, squirrels and deer in her backyard. She also was an avid baseball fan. She watched every Milwaukee Brewers game and attended the Mellen City League baseball team home games and often traveled to watch them play in other cities. Sharon was fun-loving and those who knew her well, loved her colorful sense of humor, and beautifully timed sarcastic wit. Along with her husband Paul, Sharon is survived by her daughter who grew up to become her best friend, Kim (Dan) Katka of San Antonio, TX. Although they were separated by distance, they were inseparable by heart. In Kim, Sharon instilled resilience, resourcefulness, compassion, lightheartedness, and joy.
Sharon is also survived by brothers Charles (Tina) Schwiesow Jr. of Brookfield, WI, Joseph Schwiesow of Altoona WI, grandchildren Joshua (Maria) Katka of Colorado, Naomi (DeLa) Antunes of San Antonio, TX, and Hannah Katka of San Antonio, TX. She leaves behind six great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Charles Sr. and Elaine Schiesow and grandchildren Jordan and Andrew Katka.
There will be no formal Funeral Service at this time.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Mountain Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Ashland and Mellen, WI. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Sharon, please visit our Tree Store.
