Sharon Patricia Christiaens

CHRISTIAENS, Sharon P. – Passed away on August 14, 2024, at the Age of 80.
Sharon was born May 21, 1944. She was the daughter of the late Wesley and Agnes Herbert (nee: McNamee) in the city of Detroit.
Beloved wife of Dennis C. Christiaens with whom she shared 61 cherished years of marriage. Loving sister of Mike (Pam) Herbert and Richard (the Late Vivian) Herbert.
Cherished and loving mother of Lisa Fiorani and Kimberly (Victor)Talia. Proud and adored Grandmother to Jordan, Dante, Roman & Novana.
Sharon attended and graduated from Annunciation Catholic High School in Detroit, Michigan. Soon after graduating high school, she married the love of her life, Dennis, in the summer of 1963. While raising their two children, they resided in Detroit, St. Clair Shores, Shelby Township, and Algonac.
Sharon had a love for swimming, roller skating, gardening and animals. She was an excellent homemaker and was known as an amazing cook whose pies were known as some of the best around.
After raising her children, Sharon and Dennis did extensive traveling to places including Cancun, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Cape Cod, and Las Vegas. The couple even ventured over to travel & cruise around Europe, visiting cities in countries such as Italy and Spain. They also enjoyed spending winters at their vacation home in Cape Coral, Florida.
Anyone who was fortunate enough to know her knew how sweet, kind and caring she was. These traits lead her to have a soft spot for animals and people alike, often going out of her way to help family and friends in their times of need.
She will be greatly missed by many.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a future date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to consider memorial donations to a cause near to their hearts. Sharon's daughter Kimberley volunteers at Alecs's Place (https://www.alecsplace.com), a non-profit aiming to educate physicians and support families in the treatment of autoimmune & neurological diseases resulting from medical misdiagnosis and delayed treatment of tick-borne illness, including Lyme Disease. The board of directors of Alec's Place includes Michigan and Oregan based physicians, attorneys, and families.
