Sharon S. Daly

Sharon Smith Daly, 71 of Melville, NY, formerly of Ridgewood NJ. Surrounded by family and friends at the end in Huntington Hospital-Long Island NY. Sharon is survived by her husband of 35 years-Ken. Also survived by Ken's 5 siblings and various nieces nephews and dear friends.
Loving daughter of Carolyn (deceased) and Robert (deceased). Dear sister of Wendy(deceased).
Sharon was a RN, member of Nursing Honor Society Sigma Theta Tau. She also belonged to The Mountainside Hospital Nursing School Alumnae Association. Sharon began her career at Valley Hospital,Ridgewood in both Operating and Recovery Rooms. After a series of stops at Insurance Companies in NYC and Long Island, Sharon spent 13 years at The Suffolk County Family Health Center-Shirley,NY as Nurse Manager. In 2014 she was named a Long Island Nurse Hero by The Long Island Business News. She retired late 2014.
Sharon spent years as a belly dancer, performing in Shows. It was a hobby she really enjoyed and kept her in shape. Her Stage name was Rivka. Shortly after their first blind date, Sharon revealed to Ken that she was really a Registered Nurse. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Diabetes Association.
