Raymond C. Daly, Jr., age 96, passed into eternal life at home on August 25, 2025, after an extended illness, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Brookfield, IL on October 24, 1928 to Raymond C. and Ruth(Hofert) Daly, Sr. He attended Lyons Township High School, after which he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving his country for 5 years, including deployment on the battleship USS Missouri.

Raymond then began his career with Universal Oil Products, working as a laboratory technician for that company for over 40 years until his retirement.

He married the love of his life, Patricia, on November 3, 1951. During their marriage of more than 73 years, Ray and Pat were inseparable.

They moved to their home in South Berwyn where they raised their family of seven children.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Patricia (nee Foreman); his loving children, Colleen (William) Munch, Michael (Nancy), Christopher (the late Gail), Paul (Debbie), Lawrence (Susan), and Patricia D'Avolio; and his half siblings, Edward Daly, James Daly, and Donna Plesha. He was predeceased by his oldest child, Raymond Patrick; his parents; his siblings David (Geraldine), Ruth (Raymond) Leonchik, and Barbara (Vern) Cox; his stepmother, Carrie Daly; and his half brother, Richard.

He is survived by 13 grandchildren: Lawrence (Melissa), Raymond (Kelley), and Lauren Munch; Matthew Daly and Meghan (Joshua) DiBenedetto; Shaun (Susan) Daly, M.D., and Ryan (Jennifer) Daly; Andrea (the late Jeffrey) Manzanares, Paul Daly, and Ashley (Eric) Schmidt; Katelyn and Kelly Daly; and Nicholas (Hillary) D'Avolio and Jacqueline D'Avolio. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Raymond lived simply and worked diligently to support his family. He was skilled in the use of tools, and did many home improvement projects, passing his skills on to his sons. He was a devout Catholic who belonged to St. Leonard Parish in Berwyn, a kind, gentle, and humble man who was devoted to his wife and family and will dearly missed.
