Obituary of Sharon Olga Duval
Sharon O. (Nissen) Duval, 84, died May 16, 2023, at Morningstar Memory Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She was raised on a farm near Drake, North Dakota with her six siblings.
Sharon became a beautician out of high school and used that money to put herself through a bookkeeping school, which became her lifelong career. She lived in New Town, North Dakota for many years, later moved to Wishek, North Dakota, and settled for a time in Blair, Nebraska.
Sharon was married to the love of her life, Orville Duval, for 53 years, before he preceded her in death. She was born and lived in North Dakota most of her life and missed it daily. She will be remembered for her faith, quick wit, impish smile, kindness and loyalty to family and friends. Sharon enjoyed singing in the church choir, served on multiple church committees and spending time outdoors fishing, gardening or just taking a walk.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Anna Nissen, as well as five of her siblings.
She is survived by her sister, Selma Keller, Fargo North Dakota; her daughters, Denise (Dru) Knight-Drury, Colorado Springs and Alison Block, Blair, Nebraska; her son, Brett (Brenda) Duval, Salt Lake City, Utah; and six grand-children whom she loved dearly.
She was a ray of sunshine to all who knew her and though she will be missed, we celebrate her earthly and eternal life.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A Graveside Service will be held this summer in North Dakota, at the family burial site.
