Sharon Kaye (Stierwalt) Everts was born on September 13,1946, to Leslie Wendell and Opal Laberta Stierwalt of Delaware, Oklahoma at Nowata General Hospital. Leslie being a member of the U.S. Air Corp, shortly after Sharon was born their small family relocated to Ephrata, WA. Sharon and her parents lived on base for a time, then moved to 1742 B St NW just outside of town. Over the next few years, their family grew with the addition of her sister Linda and her brother Les.
Sharon grew up in Ephrata, graduating in 1964 from Ephrata High School. Her family were long-term members of Ephrata church of the Nazarene and active in serving the church and their community. Following her graduation, Sharon went on to attend Northwest Nazarene University, which was then Northwest Nazarene College. Sharon loved her time at NNC. She made many friends, and she especially loved the chapel services on campus. During her education towards her diploma, Sharon took some time off to work for Pacific NW Bell to help pay for her student loans. Sharon graduated in 1970 with a degree in business administration. Sharon continued to work for the telephone company as a phone operator and in the business department until she retired.
In 1977, Sharon married Randy Everts. They were married several years before they divorced and went separate ways. Sharon lived in Spokane while she worked for the phone company but eventually moved back home to Ephrata. Sharon continued to be a member of the Nazarene church. She loved to serve. She has held several positions and duties in the church such as being a board member and church secretary. She also had a passion for worship. She loved new and contemporary music more than the old hymns of the past. Although Sharon did not have any children of her own, she served the kids in the community and was a big asset to Ephrata's youth ministry. Over the years Sharon had five dogs that she loved and cared for. She loved her fur babies! She was also the resident babysitter of other people's beloved pets. Sharon had a heart of love and care.
Sharon had a longtime diagnosis of Central Tremor Disorder with a later addition of Parkinson's disease. Sharon ended the battle of her disease and passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 13, 2025. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents Leslie and Opal Stierwalt. Sharon leaves behind her sister Linda and Rocco Tropeano, her brother Les and Sue Stierwalt and many nieces and nephews. Graveside service to be held on September 19, 2025 at 10:30am at Valley View Memorial Park 20174 Rd A NE, Soap Lake, WA. Fellowship gathering following service at Ephrata Church of the Nazarene 33 D St NE, Ephrata, WA.
