Sharon Elaine Grochowski, 78, of South Bend, Indiana passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2025 at The University of Chicago Hospital. She was born on June 18, 1947 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Charles N. and Mary S. (Bouchard) Sibert, Jr. Sharon was also preceded in death by one brother, David Sibert. On June 1, 1974 she married Robert Anthony Grochowski in St. Matthews Cathedral. She is survived by her husband Robert who she was married to for fifty-one years, one daughter, Rachel Jackson of Springfield, MO, one son, Matthew Robert Grochowski of Chattanooga, TN and two grandchildren, Jacob and Alexia Jackson.

Sharon graduated from Riley High School in 1966. She had various occupations throughout her life including a secretarial engineer, payroll clerk, picture framer and most importantly a homemaker for her family. She was a very avid reader, loved word games, gardening and home improvements. Sharon enjoyed working out with her friends at McDonald's Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation Center. She was renowned for her cooking and baking skills.

A visitation for Sharon will be held on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr. South Bend, IN from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm. A rosary will be prayed during the visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 226 N. Hill St, South Bend IN at 12:00 pm. Visitation will be held from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm in the church prior to the Mass. Burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Southern Missions (https://secure.shsm.org/site/Donation2?df_id=6360&6360.donation=form1).
