Sharon LeAnne Halvorson passed away peacefully at her home in Steamboat Springs, Colorado with her husband of 52 years, Vance E. Halvorson, and her dogs Kugo, Teddy and Benji after a long battle with cancer.

When Sharon and Vance came to the Yampa Valley in the early 1970's, they lived in a 300 square foot cabin in Fairview with an outdoor john and a pump out front. A friend once remarked, Sharon must have loved Vance verry much to live in those conditions, but they were very happy. The love affair continued over the many years even though they worked together, Sharon as a Secretary/Paralegal and Vance as an Attorney. They were a 24/7 couple that enjoyed all the activities that the Yampa Valley offered, i.e. glamping, boating, fishing, hunting, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Sharon was an accomplished cook and baker sharing her food with friends and family. Sharon loved babies and children who were always welcome to sample her treats and goodies. Sharon was a volunteer cross-country ski instructor with horizons and participated in the first winter Paralympics games which were held in Steamboat Springs. Sharon was honest without fault and told it like it was. Friends and family enjoyed her humor and wit.

Sharon was preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Taylor and father Fred Taylor, sisters Chriss Olin and Paula Taylor, son Shannon Halvorson and grand son Joshua Halvorson, Sharon is survived by her husband Vance Halvorson, her grand daughter Lauren Halvorson Anderson (Curtis), grand son Taylor Halvorson and great granddaughter Melia Halvorson Anderson.

A celebration of Sharon's life will be held in May/June 2026.
