Sharon Johnson Obituary

Sharon Johnson, age 79 of Isanti Minnesota, left us on Wednesday, September 10, 2025 after a 10 year battle with a long term illness she fought hard against. Celebration of life will be held on September 25, 2025 at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran 4101 37th Ave S. Minneapolis, MN 55406. Visitation at 10am and Service at 11am. Refreshments to follow the service.

Sharon was born and raised in St. Paul, where she attended Jefferson Elementary and Central High School, where she graduated in 1966. She was employed at MNDOT for a time. Sharon and Jerome (Jerry) first met in 1967 at Thompson Hall at a social gathering. In 1968, they were reacquainted when Beverly (Sharon's best friend) re-introduced them at a small gathering at Beverly's uncle's home. Sharon and Jerry dated for about 1 year thereafter and on February 1, 1969 they officially began their journey as husband and wife.

Sharon and Jerry resided in St. Paul as they raised 2 boys (Mike and Jeff). Sharon did eventually go back to work at MNDOT for a short time while the boys were young and later decided that she would be a stay-at-home mom and homemaker. She did all the things that a loving wife and mom would do to support her husband and raising the boys. Sharon loved plants, cooking, the casino, weekends/vacations at the lake, and socializing within the deaf community. When it was time, both Sharon and Jerry relocated to Isanti to Jeff's home where they would enjoy the safe, quiet country life that would help Sharon as her fight progressed. It was also a place where she could peacefully transition to her heavenly home.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerome for 56 years, Sons – Michael and Jeffrey (Scarlet), brothers – Clifford Wells Jr and Scott Wells, and 5 grandchildren. In addition to many friends and extended family. She is united in heaven by parents Clifford and Dorothy Wells Sr.; brother Gregory Wells; sister-in-law Teresa Wells; and daughter-in-law, Justine Johnson.
