Sharon Kay “Sherry” Johnson, 78 of Marion passed away on Wednesday January 21, 2026 at home following an extended illness. Sherry was born July 14, 1947 in Marion to the late Gordon Walter and Margaret Helena (Stabner) Johnson. She was also preceded in death by brother-in-law David Staub. Sherry was never married.
Sherry is survived by sister Hazel Jean Staub; her nieces and nephew which she thought of as her children Christina (David) Norris, Shannon Fearer and Ryan Staub; as well as numerous great nieces and nephews.
Sherry graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1965. She was a member of the Oak Knoll Baptist Church where she had served as Secretary and Treasurer.
She worked for the Marion City Board of Education prior to working in Accounts Payable at Natures Alpine Solutions where she retired after 40 years.
A Memorial will be held at the church at a later date to be announced. The family suggests memorials be made in the form of contributions to Oak Knoll Baptist Church. Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
The family would like to extend thanks to all of the Doctors, Nurses, and Compassion Hospice, especially Dr. Hayes, for their love and care for Sherry.
