Ernest T Weimer

Ernest Thornton Weimer, 85 of rural Galion passed away on Tuesday March 10, 2026, at Marion General Hospital. Ernest was born May 28, 1940, in Cumberland, Maryland to the late Patsy and Velva (Collins) Weimer.

Ernest is survived by his wife of 28 years Vivian R. (Blankenship) Weimer; stepchildren Chris (Lisa) Carnes of Mansfield, Teresa (Scott) Clayton of Bucyrus, David (Opal) Carnes of Plymouth, and Timothy Carnes of Bucyrus; grandchildren, great grandchildren, adopted children Thomas and April Weimer; as well as nieces and nephews.

Ernest worked at Ford Motor Company in Maryland before moving to this area. He last worked at Carter Machine in Galion. Ernest was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and working on his computer. He was known for his good sense of humor and enjoyed eating a good meal with friends. Ernest was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Galion.

He was preceded in death by sisters Shirley Lucanegro and Geraldine Roberts; brothers Bernard, Wilbur, Richard, and Frank Weimer; stepchild Jerry “Jay” Carnes; and adopted child Thomas Weimer.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday April 25, 2026, at 2:30 pm in the Galion Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Joseph Goines officiating, 915 Portland Way North, Galion, OH. The family will receive friends from 1:30 pm until the time of the service.
