Sharon Denise Smith Kerr, age 57, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023 at her home in New Market, TN. Sharon was born on November 24, 1965 in Jefferson City, TN and was the daughter of Ruby Patterson Smith and the late, James Everette Smith. She was a graduate of Jefferson County High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from Carson Newman College in Jefferson City, TN, and continued her education with master level classes. Sharon worked for 34 years at Tennova Jefferson Memorial Hospital in many different roles ending her career as a Compliance Officer and in Accounting for the CFO. Her work family meant so much to her and became her second family. She was a member of Mill Springs Baptist Church in Jefferson City, TN. Sharon was born again and served her Lord and Savior throughout her life. She helped with VBS, Operation Christmas Child, the Women’s Ministry of Mill Springs Baptist Church, while serving others. Sharon was preceded in death by her beloved father, James Everette Smith, and nephew, Jonathan Kerr. She is survived by her husband of 28 years, Darrell Driskill Kerr, son, Andrew Darrell Kerr, mother, Ruby Patterson Smith, brother, James Michael (Tonya) Smith, nephews, James Calvin (Claire) Smith, and Seth Everette Willard Smith, great-nephew, Briggs Everette Smith, great-niece to be, Navy Shea Smith, brother-in-law, Bruce (Sheila) Kerr, nephews, William and David Kerr, and so many special family and friends. Funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Mill Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Lindsey and Rev. Scott Greene officiating. Graveside service will follow in Mill Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the funeral service at Mill Springs Baptist Church.
