Sharon King, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Olympia, Kentucky, on November 22, 2025, at the age of 71. She was born on August 26, 1954, in Frenchburg, Kentucky, to the late, Shafter and Vivian Adams King.
Sharon found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved to keep a clean house and took great pride in her home. Her warmth extended beyond her household, as she cherished spending time with family. Sharon enjoyed going to the casino, cooking, and watching soap operas, all of which brought her immense happiness and served as fond memories for her loved ones.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, James "Jim Bob" Brown Jr., along with two brothers, Robert King and Shafter "June" King Jr., and two sisters, Stella and Sue King. Their memories will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of her remaining family.
She is survived by her four daughters, Carol Wheeland of Columbus, Indiana, Tammy Manley and Sandra Saunders both of Olympia, and Genie Hardin of Midland, Kentucky. Additionally, she leaves behind special friend, Vernon Alsept, two stepdaughters, Tina Johnson (Jody) of Flemingsburg and Miranda AlSept of Montgomery County, two sisters, Shannon Lafferty of Middletown, Ohio, and Teresa King of Owingsville, and a loving brother, James King of Olympia. Her legacy continues through her twelve grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and an impressive 29 great-grandchildren. Sharon was also fond of her special nieces, Pam Hunt and Donna Pergrem both of Olympia.
Sharon's daughter Norma Jo Brown has been missing since 2014.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Michael R Gray Funeral Home located at 89 Slate Ave, Owingsville, Kentucky.
Pallbearers include, Bruce, Joshua, Joseph and Michael Bowman, Dilan Hardin and Dusty Hardin.
Honorary pallbearers include, Kerry Pergrem, Jody Johnson and Branden Shepherd.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Owingsville with Rev. Lowell Rice officiating. Burial will follow at the Mann Cemetery East 36, Owingsville, KY 40360.
