Sharon Brand LaDow, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, and deep love for her family and community.
Sharon retired from a career of nursing at various locations. Including Blodgett Hospital, Veterans Facility, Private Duty Nursing and Brookcrest nursing home.
She found her greatest joy in her grandchildren, rarely missing an opportunity to attend their games, performances, and activities. Whether cheering from the sidelines or simply spending time together, she treasured every moment with them and made each child feel uniquely loved and special.
Sharon enjoyed life’s simple pleasures — baking for those she loved, tending to her garden, and taking peaceful walks with her beloved dog, Abby. Her home and heart were always open, and she was known for her selfless nature and her ability to make everyone around her feel cared for and valued.
In her retirement community, she was a dedicated and active member, serving on the board and offering her time generously to neighbors and friends. She was often the first to lend a helping hand, whether driving someone to an appointment or checking in to make sure others were doing well. Her compassion and generosity created lasting friendships and strengthened the community she loved so much.
Above all, she will be remembered for her warmth, her selflessness, and the unwavering love she gave to her family and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the lives she touched and the many acts of kindness she shared.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Martin & Jennifer Malek, Anne Marzean & Mike Avery, Staci & Lee Greenacre; grandchildren, Megan, Morgan and Madison Malek; Sullivan Goodman & Beth Miiller; and Mikayla Marzean; Kaitlin LaDow and Crystal LaDow; great-grandchild, Jayden LaDow; sister, Linda Koster; and step-Brother, PJ Jones.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert LaDow. Mother, Gerry Jones and Father, Henry Brand.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Ofield Funeral Home, 4500 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Kentwood.
