Sharon K. Lowe (nee Russell), 78, of Akron, went to be with the Lord on September 30, 2024. Sharon was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on August 17, 1946 to the late Dale and Beulah Russell.
As a child, Sharon and her family relocated to Akron, Ohio. She attended Central High School. One of her best girlfriends had a brother who had just returned from the service. Sharon was introduced to Lester and they fell in love. They married and began a family which eventually grew to four daughters and a son. They relocated to Cincinnati for a few years and then Texas, before returning permanently to Akron.
Sharon spent her career as a merchandiser. She traveled to stores all across the country, making long term friendships wherever she went. She had a sweet personality and loved meeting new people. She could be tough when necessary, particularly when it came to protecting her family.
Sharon was very creative and enjoyed all sorts of arts and crafts. Perhaps her biggest joy in life was being Grandma to all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a light in everyone's life and will be truly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her daughter, Tracy Kay; siblings, Robert Deem and Jack Deem.
Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Lester Lowe Sr.; daughters, Tammy Lowe, Deborah LeGendre, and Michelle (Denny) Glass; son, Les (John) Chan Lowe; sister, Virginia (Dave) Ritenour; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Sharon's life will be celebrated on Sunday, November 24, 2024. Please contact her family for further information. She will be laid to rest at Ohio Western Reserve Cemetery on Monday, November 25, 2024 at 2:15pm.
If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
