Sharon Lee Lyons, born January 2, 1939, in Springfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully in her home in Rockford, Illinois, surrounded by the love of her family.
Sharon devoted her life to being a mother and homemaker, finding her greatest joy in raising her five children. Her home was the heart of her family, filled with love, care, and lasting memories. She was known for her unwavering devotion and deep love for her family and friends.
On July 8, 1957, Sharon married the love of her life, William Edward Lyons, in Hernando, Mississippi. Together they shared 68 years of marriage, building a family rooted in love, faith, and togetherness. Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved husband, William Edward Lyons, and it brings comfort to know that she is now reunited with him, together again after a lifetime of love and devotion.
She is preceded in death by her children, Carolyn Brown (Lyons) and Noel Lee Lyons I; sons-in-law, Jim Brown and Eric Turner; great-granddaughter, Kensington Lyons; her brother, Donald Wilkinson, who left this Earth at a young age; and her parents, Herbert and Thelma Wilkinson.
Sharon is survived by her siblings, Diane Tremain, and brother, Butchie (Jeannie) Wilkinson. She leaves behind her three loving children, Tambra Turner, William Edward “Eddie” Lyons, Jr., and Kimberly (Frank) Kittoe, and daughter-in-law Tammy (Noel) Lyons
She is also survived by a large and cherished family of grandchildren, Jason (Kim) Lyons, Noel II (Melissa) Lyons, Sharlett (Andrew) Kittoe Keip, Brandon Turner, Courtney (Braden) Warrens, Nicholas (Samantha) Turner, Clarissa (Scott) Fowler, Bradley Lyons, and Steven Cruz (Lyons), as well as 13 great-grandchildren who were a constant source of joy and pride.
A Memorial Service for Sharon and William will be held Friday, January 23, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. At Calvary Christian Church, 5455 Charles St. Rockford, IL. A visitation will be prior from 11:00 – 12:00 p.m. at the church. Inurnment at Arlington Memorial Park following services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Walter Lawson Children’s Home on behalf of great grandson, Chase Lyons.
