Sharon Maxwell Obituary
Sharon was born to the late Leo & Dorothy Acosta in Detroit Michigan on September 28, 1944. Sharon was one of six children. She is preceded in death by her sister Carol (Don) Mercier & her brother Dennis Acosta. She is survived by her siblings Linda Warner, Phil (Dawn) Acosta & Dave Acosta. Sharon was a cherished aunt to many nieces & nephews, as well as many great & great-great nieces & nephews.
Sharon is also survived by her step-son Jeremy & her grandsons Justice & John.
Sharon attended Rosary High School in Detroit Michigan where she met her two lifelong best friends Rachel & Ronnie. Sharon kept in touch with Rachel & Ronnie until her death & she held them both close to her heart.
Sharon had a great sense of humor & loved making people laugh. She enjoyed going to concerts, dancing, listening to music & spending time with her family especially at the "Acosta family Christmas party" - a yearly tradition that her parents started long ago. Sharon took pride in her employment as a bookkeeper, especially her successful work in collections. She was named 'employee of the month' on numerous occasions & received awards for her contributions to the company. Sharon also loved animals. She adored her cat, the late "Kitty" & her dog, the late "Buffy" of whom will be laid to rest with her.
Sharon will be deeply missed & forever remembered as a light in the lives of her loved ones.
In lieu of flowers & monetary gifts, the family asks that you make a donation to Angela Hospice or The Michigan Humane Society in honor of Sharon.
Sharon will be laid to rest as follows:
Viewing: January 19, 2026 4-8 p.m. Lynch & Sons Funeral Home 5391 Highland Rd Waterford Township MI, 48327
Church Services: January 20, 2026 11 a.m. St. Perpetua Church 134 Airport Rd Waterford Township MI, 48327
After church services, there will be a funeral procession to the cemetery, followed by a luncheon.
Cemetery: Holy Sepulcher 25800 W 10 Mile Rd Southfield MI, 48033
Luncheon: De'Lucas 27424 Warren Rd. Westland MI, 48185
