Sharon A. (Spaanem) Morrison, age 82 of Wisconsin Rapids, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with Parkinsons. She was born on July 14, 1942, to Arthur and Marcella (Schoenenberger) Spaanem in Madison, WI and gave her heart to the Lord at a young age. On August 19, 1961, she married the love of her life, Eugene Morrison. Together, they shared 63 beautiful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and faithful devotion. Sharon and her family first lived on their dairy farm, Spaanem Dairy, in Madison before eventually settling in Cambridge, Wisconsin. She graduated from Cambridge High School in 1960 and, not long after, accepted a position with the FBI in Washington, D.C. Following her marriage, Sharon dedicated herself to being a stay-at-home mom, focusing on raising her children. At home, Sharon extended her gift for caregiving by running a home day care, creating a safe and loving space where little ones were cherished as if they were her own. Beyond that, she opened her heart and her home to 50 foster children in need as a dedicated foster mother for Wood County Social Services for 25 years. Sharon not only cared for children in her home, she also touched countless young lives as a devoted Sunday School teacher and lead church nursery worker. Her gentle spirit and joyful presence lit up every room she entered, leaving a lasting impression on generations of children and families through her nurturing care. Sharon had a deep, genuine love for children and a natural gift for connecting with them. Her heart was happiest when she could offer support, guidance, and encouragement, and she poured her energy into helping young children grow and thrive. Whether through a kind word, a listening ear, or a helping hand, Sharon's passion for making a difference in the lives of children was evident in everything she did. Her love knew no bounds, and she was a guiding light and safe haven to so many. She was often found with two kids on her lap and others surrounding her. She always had a smile on her face when she had a little one in her arms. In addition to her children, she was a joyful presence in the lives of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all the children she lovingly cared for. She had a special way of making every child feel important, safe, and deeply loved. A true giver at heart, she shared her life and ministry with her beloved husband as they faithfully served in the Royal Rangers Boys Ministry for over 50 years. Whether planning conventions, preparing meals for hundreds, welcoming and supporting the leaders' wives, or making her famous fudge and mints for banquets, she poured love into every detail. Her ministry touched not only the boys and leaders but extended to every family member involved. Beyond her devotion to children and ministry, she had a joyful spirit and a sparkle in her eye, especially when she found a great deal while shopping. Bargain hunting brought her immense joy, and she loved sharing her treasures with others. No matter how busy she was, she always made time to find a store where she could hunt for the best deals - often outshopping her daughters. Sharon is survived by her husband, Eugene Morrison, children Lori (Gary) Barth, Christine (Robert) Wefel, Paul (Jennifer) Morrison, Charla Morrison, Sarah (Scott) Getzloff, Julie (Logan) Wolosek.
