Sharon Officer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Oak Lawn Funeral Home-Cremation Center and Memorial Cemetery on Feb. 4, 2026.
Sharon Officer Affectionately known as "Nana" to her favorite people, age 72, passed away at St. Thomas Ascension West Nashville, Tennessee on Tuesday February 3rd 2026. Sharon was born on January 28th, 1954. She is now joyfully resting in the sweet arms of her wonderful Savior, Jesus Christ.

She is preceded in death by her brother Bruce Rittenberry and her Grandmother Fanny Ann Rittenberry.

Sharon loved the Lord with her whole heart, and her life was a living testimony of His love and grace. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:21) so beautifully reflects the way she walked in faith and obedience. Her kindness, compassion, and generosity reflected Christ in all she did, and she shared that love freely with everyone she met.

Her greatest earthly joy was her family. She deeply loved her husband, children, and especially her precious grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Sharon was known for her big heart and gentle spirit, always showing kindness to all. She also cherished time at the beach, finding peace in God's creation and joy in moments shared with family and dear friends.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband, Robert Officer; her sons, Robbie Golden, and Andy Golden; her daughter-in-law Joy Golden; and her four beloved grandchildren, Emillee (Grady) Giffey, Bryer Golden, Callee Golden, and Allie Golden. Sister Kathy (Norris) Cole. Brothers Rick Henry, Ross (Trenda) Henry, Gary Smith. Very Special nephew Christopher Eric Henry, Special Niece Lori (Lee) Broyles, Special Nephew Josh ( Kiel) Hunter. Very special cousin Gail Leonard, Sisters of her Heart, Debbie Jones, Shirley Pryor, and Doty Pittman. Great Nephew and Nieces, Hunter Broyles, Harper Broyles, Henley Hunter, Hadden Hunter, Wyatt Hunter and Wynn Hunter.

Though our hearts grieve, we find comfort in the promises of God's Word. "The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters" (Psalm 23:1–2). Jesus also assures us, "Let not your heart be troubled… In my Father's house are many mansions… I go to prepare a place for you" (John 14:1–3). We rejoice in knowing that "to be absent from the body [is] to be present with the Lord" (2 Corinthians 5:8), and that "God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes" (Revelation 21:4).

Sharon's life leaves a beautiful legacy of faith, love, and kindness that will continue to shine through all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday February 7, 2026 from 5:00PM until 8:00PM. The Funeral will be Sunday February 8, 2026 at 1:00PM in the Chapel of Oak Lawn Funeral Home with the burial to follow service at Old Zion Cemetery.
