Sharon L. Pratt

Sharon L. (nee Riley) Pratt, 79, of Mentor, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, surrounded by her loving family, on what would have been her and Ralph's 51st wedding anniversary.

Born Nov. 25, 1946, in Washington, Penn., Sharon previously lived in Cannonsburg, Penn., and for a short period, Islip, New York, before moving to Mentor 54 years ago.

Sharon dedicated many years of service to Lake Erie College, where she retired as Bursar. Her life was deeply rooted in faith, which guided her work and relationships. She was an active and devoted member of her church, where she worked with the youth group, taught Sunday school, volunteered on the church board, and faithfully led Bible studies and even church services from her own home. Her faith was not only something she believed, but something she lived and shared generously with others.

In her later years, as her health declined, Sharon found comfort in simple pleasures-binge-watching Fox News and Blue Bloods, and spending time at home surrounded by those she loved. She especially delighted in watching her "grand puppies" play and beg for treats, a source of daily amusement and joy.

Above all else, Sharon cherished her family. She loved having her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around her, particularly in recent years, as they brought immense happiness and light into her life. Sharon was deeply proud to be a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother-roles she held close to her heart and considered her greatest blessing.

Sharon was the loving mother of Sean (Jen) Pratt and Shannon (Matthew) English; devoted step-mother of Debbie (Larry, dec.) Kobelka, David Pratt and Denise Ferguson; cherished grandmother of Dawn, Christopher, Jenny, David, Jimmy, Dawn, Darleen, Kira, Hailey, Breanna, Emma, Hannah, Sean and Jacob; great-grandmother of Ethan, Elyse, Victoria and Josephine; sister of Burke Riley and Patricia (Ray) Robinson; and aunt of Patty, Pam, Betsy, Geri, Jimmy, Johny, Bill and Amanda.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph E. Pratt; step-daughter, Darleen Pratt; granddaughter, Deanna; and parents, John and Geraldine (nee Richards) Riley.

Funeral Service will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, March, 7, at Lakeshore Assembly of God Church, 8880 Lakeshore Blvd., Mentor, OH 44060.
