Sharon Ann Sapp, 81, of Rockford passed away, surrounded by family, on June 24, 2024 at Tranquility of Rockford, Rockford, Ohio.
She was born December 31, 1942 in Celina, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Norbert Dale Ellis and Doris Lenore (Dysert) Ellis.
On August 26, 1977 Sharon married Charles "Charlie" Lee Sapp, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2021.
Sharon moved from Celina, Ohio to Rockford in 1977. She had attended Celina United Methodist Church. She loved to write poems, and enjoyed watching football. Her favorite teams to watch were the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Browns. Sharon also loved to eat sweets, especially pumpkin pie and ice cream. She babysat for many years. But Sharon's favorite activity was spending time with her grandchildren, whom she referred to as her pride and joy.
She is survived by two sons, Rodney (Teresa) Klausing of Rockford, and Randy (Kim) Klausing of Ohio City; three step-daughters, Vicki (Dana) Smith of Convoy, Jackie (Randy) Weddle of Fort Wayne, and Nikki Fox of Rockford; twelve grandchildren, Bonnie Wells, Bethany (Shaun) Balliet, Heather (Clint) Bontempo, Andrew (Alex) Weddle, Zachary (Amanda) Fox, Sara Fox, Rebecca Fox Steiner, Tiffany (Jason) Hopkins, Brittany (Adam) Billman, Jesse Klausing, Hayley (Danielle) Schoenleben, and Jessica Klausing; and eighteen great grandchildren, Emma, Smith, Huxley, Delanie, Calin, Brynlee, Chloe, Anthony, Peter, Rose, Aaron, Norah, J. J., Carlie, Jaxson, Micole, Jayden, and Jordan.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sharon was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mike Fox, and her grandson-in-law, Joe Steiner.
Private services will be held at Ketcham Ripley Funeral Home, with private burial to follow at Riverside Cemetery in Rockford.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sharon's memory may be made to the Cancer Association of Mercer County, 218 South Main Street, Celina, Ohio 45822.
